Cage Cast in HUNGRY RABBIT JUMPS
It looks like Nicolas Cage will star in the thriller Hungry Rabbit Jumps. Roger Donaldson will direct for Tobey Maguire's Maguire Entertainment and Endgame.
The script, written by Robert Tannen, centers on a man whose wife is the victim of a brutal crime. He subsequently becomes entangled with an underground vigilante organization. The producer of the film Jim Stern says:
In the best of the Hitchcockian tradition, we've got a character who's offered the chance for vengeance and he finds himself in over his head.
It's a pretty bold statement to descibe the film as being the best of the Hitchcockian tradition. The last movie I saw that really reminded me of a Hitchcock film was a film staring Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer called Transsiberian.
I just don't understand why producers keep hiring Nicholas Cage, although it looks like he will do a great job in the upcoming film Kick-Ass.
Filming will start in January in New Orleans.
Cage, whose Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans was also filmed in the city, will segue from Rabbit to 3D pic Drive Angry, which starts shooting in April.
