Sinestro will be in THE GREEN LANTERN Movie And You'll Love Who The Studio wants to play him
It looks like The Green Lantern is locking down its villains in the film. We recently learned that Peter Sarsgaard was cast to play Dr. Hector Hammond in the Martin Campbell directed film. We got some feedback from people who were disappointed that he was going to be the villain in the film. Some felt he is a boring villain. Well, you should be happy to learn that Sinestro will also be a villain in the upcoming Green Lantern film!
Back in October it was rumored that Jackie Earle Haley would be playing the part. The rumor was later debunked as not being true by Haley himself. But, now Hitfix has confirmed that the rumor is in fact true! According to sources; based on the relationship they have with Earle Haley from Watchmen and A Nightmare On Elm Street, "Jackie Earle Haley is the only choice for Sinestro by the studio."
Sinestro may not have a big role in this first Green Lantern film but they will build on his villainous character as the film franchise continues, if they do end up making a sequel.
Apparently this Green lantern film has a character overload from the history of the comics, and that the script reads like a Wikipedia page. That my friends, doesn't sound good. Why would Warner Bros. allow that to happen? Have they learned nothing from what Nolan did with Batman? As you all know too many characters can ruin a movie. Maybe they have discovered a way to do it and still make the movie good. I don't know, but I'm worried.
What are your thoughts on Haley playing Sinestro, and the character overload we are going to see?
