MAD MAX 4 to be a Live-Action and CGI Animated Mix in 3D

Mad Max director George Miller is currently in Australia prepping up to shoot his fourth installment of Mad Max titled Mad Max 4: Fury Road. We've got a few little details about the production here and there, but nothing really mind blowing. We do know that Tom Hardy was cast to replace Mel Gibson in the lead role, and Charlize Theron will obviously take the lead female role. There are now a couple little reports coming in that have shed some more light on what we can possibly expect from this movie.

There is a chance the movie will be in 3D. At this point though there is a chance that every freakin film being made will be developed in 3D from here on out. It's also being reported that the film will be a mix of live-action and animation. Technically that means that there is going to be a heavy amount of CGI work done in the film. Lord of the Rings, District 9 and most other big films being made these days are live action mixed with animation so it's nothing we really haven't seen done before. Considering there was no CG animation used in the first Mad Max films this is a big step, because does Mad Max really need a CGI overhaul? I guess it couldn't hurt as long as it doesn't look cheaply done.

I remember when this Mad Max 4 news first started being reported there was a rumor that the whole thing would be animated which would have actually been pretty cool if done right. One might think that the film could possibly be shot on green screen using motion capture technology, which isn't out of the question, but I just don't think the movie is going to go in that direction.

I just hope the movie turns out being really good and has the same awesome feel as the first Mad Max films that have been released.

Is Mad Max 4 a movie you are looking forward to seeing?
