Marc Forster to direct Robert Ludlum book THE CHANCELLOR MANUSCRIPT

Looks like Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster has found his next film project. It will be an adaptation of the Robert Ludlum novel The Chancellor ManuscriptLeonardo DiCaprio will be producing The Chancellor Manuscript, and might end up starring in the film as well. The story is seems very interesting, and will definitely make for a really good film.

Here is the description from the book:

DID J. EDGAR DIE A NATURAL DEATH? . . . OR WAS HE MURDERED?

Inver Brass--a group of high-minded and high-placed intellectuals who see a monstrous threat to the country in Hoover's unethical use of his scandal-ridden private files. They decide to do away with him--quietly, efficiently, with no hint of impropriety. Until best-selling thriller writer Peter Chancellor stumbles onto information that makes his precious books like harmless fairy tales. Now Chancellor and Inver Brass are on a deadly collision course, spiraling across the globe in an ever-widening arc of violence and terror. Hurtling toward a showdown that will rip Washington's intelligence community apart--leaving only one damning document to survive . . .

Sounds pretty freakin exciting to me! I love these kinds of stories that dive into conspiracy theories. I also think Foster is a decent choice to bring this film to life. Although Quantum of Solace wasn't my favorite Bond film, it was still enjoyable to watch and I think the director has the talent to successfully pull off a fun political thriller.

Robert Ludlum is a hot commodity in Hollywood, he is also the author of the Bourne series, and also the upcoming film The Sigma Protocol, which stars Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington. He made $4 million bucks off this movie so he's pretty happy.

What are your thoughts on the story of this new film?
