Exclusive Interview: Actress/Singer/Model Julin Vs. Brian  S

The very talented, beautiful, funny and down right cool actress/singer/model Julin took a short break from her very busy schedule to talk to me about her current and upcoming projects in film and her music career. She is a busy girl, take a look at what all goes on in the life of Julin!

Brian  S- Hi Julin, your movie The Final is part of After Dark's Horrorfest 4.What can you tell us about this cool looking film, director and your character?

Julin- I'll start with the film, it's about a bunch of outcast kids, that get revenge on the popular kids that kind of tease them in high school. I like to say it's like Saw meets Columbine. It was written and produced by Jason Kabolati. The director is Joey Stewart and this was his directorial debut, he is an amazing guy, very creative and fun to work with. He let us be free and he trusted us a lot to do our thing as actors. My character is Heather is the Queen Bitch of the high school, she picks on others, just because she is trying to prove to everyone something about herself. She was teased a lot growing up and this was her way of getting back at everyone. But they defiantly get revenge on her as well.

Brian  S- Will you be at any of the theaters screening the Horrorfest 4? Date and time if you are?

Julin- I'm going to be at the Silverado Imax for the first showing, the date and times have not came out yet, but here is the website. :) http://www.santikos.com/homehou.html I'll be there with everyone else :)!

Brian  S- How cool is it to be a part of the largest and coolest Horror film festival going today?

Julin- I love it! I think it's so exciting, I can't wait for everyone to go out to the theater and let me know what they think. Also, one of my favorite actresses is in anther film that is in the festival too! Taryn Manning.  I love all the marketing they are doing and there is a new trailer up of The Final  right here.

Brian  S- What can you tell us about Spirit Camp, the director and your character?
Where and when can we be looking for Spirit Camp?

Julin- Spirit Camp is having another screening in Houston, Wednesday, February 17th at 7pm at the STUDIO MOVIE GRILL at Houston's Town & Country City Centre!

BUY TICKETS EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE at http://spiritcamphouston.eventbrite.com

Also they will have DVDs for sale, we will be there as well, or you can order your copy online at www.spiritcampmovie.com

The director is Kerry Beyer and this was his first feature length film to direct, edit and produce, he is also an actor. We were all camping in the woods together for the period of about 4 months on and off. We all became really close, it was a blast! There was no TV, no internet, so it was like camping for real, and we pretty much stayed in the same cabin together, you could have filmed it and put it on MTV as a reality show, it was great! Kerry is a super great guy to work with, very creative as well, we are still close friends, and some of my best friends I met on the shoot, it was my first big role in a movie.

Spirit camp is about a bunch of cheerleaders going to camp and trying to get into trouble have fun and then they find a serial killer running around. It's a comedy/horror film. Like Friday the 13th meets Bring it in on!

My character was Rachel, another mean bitchy girl, I made her to be an airhead too, she's a lot fun, just a crazy girl who likes to get into trouble and push people's buttons.

Brian  S- Ok I know you have a new cd coming out this summer so if you want to tell us a little about your music career let her rip Julin!

Julin- Ha-ha, thanks, well I am currently working on my second album with producer Oscar Wild, we met working on the Ying Yang Twins' song Fever, you can hear it at www.myspace.com.julin, we are working on a dance, electro pop, with a little bit of soul infused. I don't know how to describe it really. Kind of Euro as well. The Ying Yang Twins song was never released because the people that own the rights to the original fever, felt it was too crude of a song. LOL. I have 3 songs recorded and we are looking to release the album in the summer, go on a little tour as well. And my first album, Transitions, can be heard and bought on iTunes.

Brian  S- Is there anything you want to tell the fans out there?

Julin- Right now I am currently working on two projects one is called Cherry Bomb, directed by Kyle Day. http://www.cherrybombfilm.com/home.php,  I will be playing the lead Cherry, I'm super excited I love revenge films, and I'm ready to kick some ass! Also, because I did 6 months of training at Shelly Kelly's S Factor, I knew this day would come :) lol. info about the film, Its 1984. An exotic dancer named Cherry has just watched the five men who assaulted her walk free with the help of a corrupt police force. Seeing no justice coming from within the system Cherry enlists the help of her brother and they take the law into their own hands and seek justice on their own terms... one bullet at a time. But with a professional hitman after them and the police closing in, Cherry is forced to put herself and her loved ones in harm's way to satisfy her need for revenge and her desire to end the corruption that is plaguing the city.

Also, another film I am going to be filming The Toy Box, the end of this summer, based on a true story, An American serial killer suspected by police to have murdered as many as 60 people; David Parker Ray tortured and presumably killed his victims in a $100,000 homemade torture chamber he called "The Toy Box." http://www.theblacklightdistrict.com/

I will be playing Marie Parker, one of the victims, but she also has a back story, it is based on a real person, so I am excited for the challenge. The story is just so horrible, and I hope it shows people that they need to be very careful because there are some crazy people out there. Directed by Michael Colburn. Shooting in and around Houston, and Austin, TX.

Another movie I did is called Sweatshop directed by Stacy Davidson and written by Stacy Davidson and Ted Geoghegan, we shot in Houston, TX in an old creepy warehouse. I played the character Miko, who is a cyber goth raver. The make up was incredible it looks nothing like me :). It has amazing special effects done by Marcus Koch, Kristi Boul, and Mike Oliver. We have won a ton of awards so far and it was played in the NYC Horrorfest in Nov 2009. Which I was fortunate enough to make it out there. More info and the trailer can be seen at http://www.sweatshopfilm.com/.

My movie Mardi Gras is coming out this summer, it stars the Beautiful Carmen Electra, I just have a small part in it, I play Sarah. The film is directed by Phil Dornfeld, filmed in New Orleans, LA. Also I did a romantic Comedy Up and Down, I play the lead Alex and the film is directed by Jonathan Carbonaro, that will hit festivals this summer, filmed in Houston, TX.

Another movie I did is Killer School Girls from Outer Space, I am the #1 Killer School Girl, so that is a super fun flick a tribute to the old school Sci Fi films. Directed by Alex Shumake. filmed in Austin, TX. That film should be coming out in the Spring 2010.

And I just got finished doing a film called Boggy Creek, which is a movie about Big Foot and is directed by Brian Jaynes. I had to get in the swamp. Ew! LOL! It was a lot of fun. We filmed in Uncertain, TX. By Louisiana.

Thanks so much to everyone for their support, I super appreciate it, I have the most amazing friends/fans out there, and in this business it can be so competitive, and can get you down sometimes, but they are so amazing that every compliment or anything I read them all it really puts me in a good mood and a smile on my face. :) I'm excited for this year and working on new projects and meeting new creative people.

I will be at The Texas Frightmare Fest April 30 - May 2, in Dallas, TX promoting the horror films I am in, giving out autographed pics, taking pictures and just having a good time :) I'll be at the Spirit Camp table and Sweatshop table so come by! http://www.texasfrightmareweekend.com/lifetype/
