Christopher Nolan Talks about Not Shooting THE DARK KNIGHT RISES in 3D

Earlier today Christopher Nolan revealed that the title of Batman 3 would be The Dark Knight Rises. It was also noted that he would not be shooting or converting the film for 3D. This will be strictly made for IMAX. Nolan went on to talk a little bit more about his decision not shoot the film in 3D. Hell, he doesn't have to sell me on the idea of not shooting the film in 3D! I'm happy he's fighting against the man on this issue. But he does manage to still get me incredibly excited for this film with the way he talks about it.

One of the main reasons Nolan doesn't want the film to be in 3D is because according to him "We want the look and feel of the film to be faithful to what has come before in the first two films. There was a large canvas and operatic sweep to ‘The Dark Knight’ and we want to make a film that will carry on with that look and feel." He goes on to say,

There’s an intimacy at times [with spatial illusion of the 3D effect] and we want didn’t want to lose scale… our ambitions for the third movie is to complete a story that has begun. This is not starting over, this not rebooting… We’re looking to do something technologically that’s never been done before… Our ambitions are to make a great movie.

What more can us fanboys and fangirls ask for? He's telling us exactly what we want to hear, and from the way he's talking about this Batman movie I can't help but this this next Batman film is going to be better than the first two.

What do you all think about what Nolan had to say here?
