MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Production Gets Delayed Until 2012

George Miller's two new Mad Max films have unfortunately hit a snag that will delay the production of the film until 2012! So that sucks, the film has already gone through a ton of prep work with the building of cars, locations, sets, designs, stunt rehearsals and more. Now the back to back filming of Mad Max: Fury Road and Mad Max: Furiosa is on hold. It was supposed to go into production on 2011.

One of the worst parts about this whole thing is that the films crew is now out of work. The Australian reports that “The delay has left many major film crew members without work amid fears the high Australian dollar could ultimately kill the film as its budget grows.”

I assume the budget issues are the reason why the film has been delayed. There's no other reason as to why the film was delayed mentioned in the article, but like it say's, "the high Australian dollar could ultimately kill the film as its budget grows." So there's a possibility this film could never happen, which would be a bloody shame.

Key crew members were told this week not to expect to return for pre-production until August or November of next year. Now hopefully the film will begin production in February 2012.
