First Look: AMC'S New Series THE KILLING

AMC is on a roll lately, it has a cool new show coming to the small screen. The Killing is set to debut March 2011. Below is a promo trailer and a featurette for your viewing pleasure.

The Killing follows an investigation into the murder of a Seattle girl. The first season has a total of  thirteen episodes and each episode covers one day. The story focuses on the lead investigator and the, the girl’s grieving parents and the mayor of the city.

 

The show is based on a Danish miniseries called Forbrydelsen. According to executive producer Venna Sud the show will explore the motivations and emotions of its characters as they follow the clues to find the murderer.
Here is what Sud said about the show:

“What we’re trying to do with this show is take the genre and turn it on its head… This is all about the secrets we have… it’s about how worlds collide, how there’s very little separation in a city, how everything sort of comes together around this murder investigation.”

Mireille Enos stars as Detective Sarah Linden, the lead detective of the murder case. She stars in Big Love as Jodeen Marquardt. Bill Campbell of The 4400, Enough and The Rocketeer will star as the mayor. Michelle Forbes (True Blood, Battlestar Galactica) and Brent Sexton (Deadwood)will play the roles of the victim’s grieving parents.
