Worst Band. Worst Song. Worst Video... Makes for the Best Comments!

HumorMusicVideos by Eli Reyes

I'm not one to knock young aspiring musicians working to find their "sound," but there are some things that shouldn't make it out of rehearsal, be recorded, filmed, or performed in any way shape or form. Such is the case with the song "Shine," by Midlake, Texas Christian rock band Final Placement.

Crappy vocals and out of tune guitars are normal occurrences during high-school talent shows and opening acts at a small rock club. Even when those awful elements are committed to an actual recording, it's easy to turn off.

But when it's cut to a video that showcases a teenage band exhuming every ounce of puzzling confidence, with "we're awesome" written all over their faces, combined with a singer who manages to somehow sound whiney while straddling Nickelback and Creed butt rock grunts, it's a hilarious train wreck that is impossible NOT to watch!

This video went viral on youtube, but was since taken down and put on Vimeo. Check it out and let us know what you think!

Uploaded with the sole description of "Awesome video by Final Placement," the proclamation of awesomeness has been met with all the rightful jeering, and sarcastic compliments.

Here's a sampling of some comments:

"Dude this is the most amazing song ever written. Not to mention the video is above and beyond anything you could hope for. I think the only disappointment is that there is not another song by this tour de force to compare to this amazing work of genius. Also, I just shit in my pants."

"This is the result of every kid getting a trophy even though they suck the balls. Parents, please be realistic with your kids. God agrees...trust."

"this is to music what 'The Room' is to film"

"Just when you thought Christian music couldn't get any better, Final Placement arrives like a glorious chariot from heaven and brings the genre a quantum leap forward. Every time I watch this video I get a Christ on."

"Is this real life or did two angels just give birth in my ears?!"

"Four blossoming careers in the food service industry."

There's even a coalition on Facebook trying to get these guys on SXSW!
