Will Smith Remaking Alfred Hitchcock's SUSPICION

Movie Alfred Hitchcock by Joey Paur

Where oh where has the imagination gone, oh where, oh where can it be? It obviously doesn't exist in Hollywood anymore, it hasn't for some time now, more than 50% of the movies being made these days are remakes and unnecessary sequels. Even stars like Will Smith have been smitten by the remake bug and has recently produced remakes of I Am Legend, The Karate Kid, and now our friends at Latino Review report that the Alfred Hitchcock classic, Suspicion has fallen victim to the remake monster.

Smith is apparently getting ready to produce and star in the film, he will take on the role of Cary Grant, and let's be honest, Will Smith is no Cary Grant.

The 1941 film follows Johnny Aysgarth, a handsome gambler who seems to live by borrowing money from friends. He meets the shy Lina McLaidlaw on a train while trying to travel in a first class carriage with a third class ticket. He begins to court Lina and before long they are married. It is only after the honeymoon that she discovers his true character and she starts to become suspicious when Johnny's friend and business partner, Beaky is killed mysteriously.

If you haven't seen the original film, it's definitely a must watch. Hitchcock's movies are perfect the way they are. There is absolutely no reason to remake them.

"If it's a good movie, the sound could go off and the audience would still have a perfectly clear idea of what was going on." - Alfred Hitchcock
