Exclusive Interview: Producer Jordan Yale Levine Vs. Brian  S

Producer Jordan Yale Levine is only 25 years old and has already planted his feet firmly on the ground in Hollywood! With a very impressive producing record already the sky is the limit for this guy! What's next for Jordan Yale Levine? He sat down and gave me an INSIDE EXCLUSIVE to what's going on with him now and in the near future!

Brian  S- Hey Jordan, at 25 years old you have a very impressive Producer resume! How in the world did you get into producing at such a young age? Oh and by the way I'm a proud owner of 'Tooth and Nail', which was part of After Dark Horrorfest's' 8 Films To Die For' a few years back!

Jordan- I always had a business mindset. When I was in high school, back in NYC, all I did was find ways to make money, promoting night clubs, selling tickets to the after partys for various school's proms etc...Considering I was jewish and not 6 foot 5, I realized I couldn't play ball, so I had to figure out another way to make the money I envisioned. My family friend was the Executive Producer on the "Illusionist," withEdward Norton and Jessica Biel, so when the film was finished, I had the opportunity to travel to LA that summer, and watch the distribution and promotion process. I was so enticed that I decided to make the move to LA permanent, start my own company Fylmar Productions, and start producing. At first, I hustled like I did in NYC to raise $ for other people's films such as "Tooth and Nail," then I built up enough credibility that people started investing in my own projects that I soley produce with my business partner.

Brian  S- You also do some acting, now how did you get into the acting end of the business and which is your favorite, acting or producing?

Jordan- Acting is a great hobby, but I am a producer first and foremost. On the other hand, if it was not for acting, I would not have met the love of my life, my amazing girlfriend, Katy Johnson. Funny story is that my friend, former wrestling champion, Diamond Dallas Page is responsible for starting my acting career. I was in the middle of financing a film this past summer, when Page called me up and said to expect a call from directorTim Sullivan. Tim called me and asked me to play one of the co-stars in his new film, after Page put in the good word that I would be perfect for the role. Two weeks, later, I was on a plane to Iowa, shooting "2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams," having the time of my life!

Brian  S- "Bang!", I remember DDP! What has been your best and rewarding film experience so far?

Jordan- I would have to say taking the "Land of the Astronauts," script with no $$ invested into the budget, and no actors attached, to less than a year later, funding the whole film, attaching David Arquette,Bijou Phillips, and Vivica A Fox, shooting the film, and becoming the lead producer on the project.
Brian  S- The Land of the Astronauts is one of the movies you have coming out this year, what all can you tell us about this movie and who is in it?

Jordan- David Arquette stars in this Psychological thriller about a man who was once the top music composer in Hollywood, to now losing it all, his money, his wife and kid, his home, to his obsession with alcohol and many other delusions that he experiences inside of his head. This film is about the thin line between success and failure...especially in Hollywood. I am sure many people will be able to relate when it comes out, also being that this film is based upon a true story. The film also stars Bijou PhillipsVivica A Fox, Lin Shaye, my girl Katy Johnson, and a decent cameo by myself!
Brian  S- I'll be looking for it, even has that "catchy kind of title" too! Ok Jordan getting to one of the most anticipated sequels of 2010, 2001 Maniacs:Field of Screams, who do you play in this cool sequel to Tim Sullivan's 2004 2001 Maniacs?

Jordan- In "2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams," I play K-Jay. K-Jay is the boyfriend of Rome Sheraton (KatyJohnson) and he is along for the crazy ride with the other "Road Rascals," when their vehicle unfortunately ends up crossing paths with the Maniacs from Pleasant Valley. K-Jay is all about Hollywood, and does not care for anyone or anything he encounters from the South. All that is on his mind is partying, having fun, and being with his girl Rome!

Brian  S- What all can you tell us about the Maniacs and the fun cast it has? Any cool stories you want to share?

Jordan- All that comes to my mind when I think about that experience last summer, is meeting and falling in love with my girl! It is real crazy how things work out. Tim knew from day one, that when he picked me for K-Jay and Katy for Rome, that something was about to happen. After the third day of production, Tim came up to me and said "when you guys get married, I am the best man!" Being together everyday on and off set for those weeks, Katy and I became so close, that when we flew back to LA, within two months we already moved into a brand new condo together, and have spent everyday together since. Thanks Tim!

Brian  S- That's awesome Jordan, aint it funny how things work out sometimes! Tim rocks! What else do you have in store for us in 2010 Jordan?

Jordan- 2010 is going to be a big year. Right now my business partner, Franco Sama and I are preparing our next film to produce. It is an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts), fight movie we will shoot in Michigan within the next few months. The film "A Taste for Blood," was written, and will be directed by my good friend, David Frigerio. This film is similar to Darren Aronofsky's "The Wrestler," in the sense that wrestling in that film was the backdrop, as MMA is in ours. Our film is about the characters, and our main character's story of Revenge. We are in talks right now with the possible lead actor (I will be able to update soon!), to star opposite our villian, "Zulu," played by another great friend of mine, WWE Superstar, Shad Gaspard. Shad is one half of the WWE Tag Team, Cryme Tyme, and is an amazing fighter...he beat the crap out of me at Gold's in Venice Beach a few weeks ago...weights of course lol. Besides that film, we are also producing an action film in the islands of Fiji, and have opened up our own distribution company, under Fylmar as well. Our first theatrical release this year will be in May called, "The Penitent Man," starring Lance Henriksen and Andrew Keegan. Besides that, you can look for my film, "The Land of The Astronauts," in theatres 2010 as well. Not movie related, hopefully taking many long vacations in between shoots to tropical islands with my girl! Holla.

Brian  S- Well I can be packed for Fiji like in a minute bro, I'm just throwing that out there! Ok lastly Jordan I want to thank you for your time and wish you a lot of luck and success in your movie making future! Don't forget  about me if you need to cast a leading extra, I'm cheap... Wait that didn't sound right! My bags are packed for Fiji, I told you I was fast!
Jordan- There ya go bro.
