FOX is Currently Looking for a PLANET OF THE APES Director and Here's Who They Want

We've reported a couple of times already that FOX is looking to once again reboot the Planet of the Apes franchise. One thing I think most of us can agree on, is this is a very bad idea. It's good to know that there's some talent in Hollywood that feels the same way we do. FOX has approached directors Kathryn Bigelow (Hurt Locker), Tomas Alfredson (The Danish Girl) and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) to develop the project, and like the smart directors that they are, they all turned Fox down.

That won't stop Fox from trying to get the movie made though. They have a few other decent directors in mind that they are going to try to get on board to direct the movie. As of right now they have sent the script entitled Caesar out to the following directors; The Hughes Brothers (The Book Of Eli), Pierre Morel (Taken), James McTeigue (Ninja Assassin), Dennis Illiadis ( the Last House of the Left), and Scott Stewart (Legion).

I think it would be awesome if they all end up turning down the offer to direct the movie, but chances are someone is going to say yes to it. I don't know who it will be, but the Planet of the Apes reboot is going to end up being directed by somebody.

In the end, I don't really have any desire to see another Planet of the Apes movie. There are so many other stories to tell in the world that would make for a better and original film.

Hey, remember that time when Tim Burton tried to remake it? What in the hell was that all about!?
