Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov to Develop ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER Film!
Oh, hell yeah! Just yesterday I posted a great little book trailer for a new book from Seth Grahame-Smith, called Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. This is the same guy that wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. In my article I wrote that this Lincoln vampire hunter story had to be turned into a movie. Well, today I got my wish.
Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter is going to get developed by the same producing team that brought us the CGI animated feature 9. Tim Burton, Timur Bekmambetov and Jim Lemley are the guys that will bring this movie to life, and it could be a better team.
Lionsgate has already picked up the film rights to the author's Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, which Natalie Portman is attached to star in and David O.Russell is circling to direct.
The story starts with the revelation that Lincoln’s mother was killed by a supernatural creature, which fueled his passion to crush vampires and their slave-owning helpers. The novel depicts the 16th U.S. president as an axe-throwing, highly trained vampire killer.
