Casting Roundup: Jonah Hill - Moneyball, De Niro and Kravitz - Selma, Nick Nolte - Luck, and Juno Temple - Lesbian Werewolf

Actress Juno Temple (Year One, Wild Child, Atonement) has been cast in another film thats been trying to get made for a long time now. The movie is sensual style werewolf film called Jack & Diane. Temple is replacing the previously cast Alison Pill, she joins Olivia Thirlby who replaced the once cast Ellen Page. The film is being directed by Bradley Rust Grey, and follows two teenage girls Jack (Thirlby) and Diane (Temple), who meet in New York City and spend the night kissing ferociously. Diane's charming innocence quickly begins to open Jack's tough skinned heart. But, when Jack discovers that Diane is leaving the country in a week she tries to push her away. Diane must struggle to keep their love alive while hiding the secret that her newly awakened sexual desire is giving her werewolf-like visions. 

Jonah Hill (Superbad) will replace Demetri Martin (Taking Woodstock) in the new film Moneyball, which has been trying to get into production for some time now. Steven Soderbergh was attached to direct it at one point but left the project due to money and creativity issues. He was replaced by Bennett Miller (Capote). Aaron Sorkin is writing the script and has turned in three drafts so far, all of which have not met the expectations of Brad Pitt who is also attached to the film. The film is based on the book of the same name written by Michael Lewis, and is based on the true story of Oakland A's general manager Billy Beane successful attempt to put together a baseball club on a budget, by employing computer-generated analysis to draft his players.

Word got out at the Oscars that Robert De Niro and Lenny Kravitz have been cast in the upcoming Civil Rights drama from Precious director Lee Daniels, Selma. It was recently announced that Hugh Jackman has been been cast in the film that takes place in Selma, Alabama, which was the place where segregation in the South was at its worst, leading to a march that ended in violence, forcing a famous statement by President Lyndon B. Johnson that ultimately led to the signing of the Civil Rights Act. Kravitz will play a civil rights activist named Andrew Young, and De Niro signed on to play the racist Governor George Wallace

Nick Nolte is in negotiations to join the cast in the new HBO series from David Milch, Luck. A drama about the horse race world. The pilot is being directed by Michael Mann. If Nolte is cast he'll join Dustin Hoffman, Dennis Farina and John Oritz, who are already attached to star.
