Darren Aronofsky to Direct Rachel Weisz in JACKIE KENNEDY

There's a spec script thats been making rounds around Hollywood recently that is based around Jackie Kennedy. The spec is simply called Jackie, and it revolves around Jackie Kennedy during the immediate days following President Kennedy’s assassination. Not long ago we heard that Spielberg was shopping around this spec script, but according to to EW that is not the case and Spielberg has nothing to do with this film project.

Spielberg may not be involved, but there are two incredibly talented individuals involved with bring it to life. Darren Aronofsky director of The Wrestler will produce and helm the project, and Rachel Weisz, Aronofsky's fiancee, and a fine actress will take on the role of Jackie Kennedy, which is perfect casting. She's got the look and she's a great actress.

The script for the film was written by Noah Oppenheim, head of development at television production company Reveille. He wrote it over period of nights and weekends, and it catalogs the four days between JFK’s assassination and his burial, showing the beloved Jackie at both her most vulnerable and her most graceful.
