Kayla states that it was such an honor to get to work with George Bonilla which was awarded 2008 Kentucky Filmaker of the Year on his upcoming Film, which was Kayla's first Featured Film titled HELL-EPHONE. Kayla was cast as Madison Monroe. This was a demanding and challenging role for Kayla. "She just blew us away with her acting ability and work ethic. It was hard to believe she was new to the business. She has the skills of a seasoned pro" Said director George Bonilla. Kayla has landed several lead and featured roles this year and has loved every minute of it. "I love Acting and it has been an honor to work with so many talented Filmmakers in our area" said Miss Perkins. Kayla is also a Dream Calendar Model, She posed for Miss August 2009 Dream Girl. Miss Perkins has also been featured in Magazines and was in Supermodels Unlimited Magazine as a Rising Star, The Next Supermodel. Kayla also worked as a dancer in Alan Jackson's Music Video "Good Time", Montgomery Gentry's "My Town", Doyle Lawson "Sadie", and many more. Kayla has also done TV Commercials, Runway Fashion Shows, Been on Billboards, and is a Print Model where she has done Catalog work for Clothing Companies. In her spare time, Kayla does alot of Volunteer work and works with several Organizations raising money for different Charities. Kayla is also former Junior Miss Kentucky! On Dec 14, 2009 Kayla received A Proclamation Award from Major Karen Tingle-Sames & The City Of Georgetown for her outstanding achievements and all she has accomplished at her age.
Brian S- Hi Kayla, it looks like 2010 is a busy year for you, what movies can we see you in coming up?
Kayla - First off, My First Featured Film Starring me as Madison Monroe in HELL-EPHONE is out on DVD now. Anyone wanting a copy of it, I can get you a copy and autograph it and mail out to you! Just shoot me an email. Also out on DVD is CRY, HADDONFIELD, THE LEGACY. I have alot in the works right now that I have been working on. I am done filming and they will be out in 2010 so look for them. They are...LOVE DON'T LET ME DOWN Starring Tim Mcgraw & Gwyneth Paltrow, Disney's SECRETARIAT Starring Diane Lane & John Malkovich, I was an extra in both but had pretty big scenes. I am Starring in NIGHTMARE FUEL & HALLOWEEN HOMECOMING. Also watch for HELL HOUSE, HAUNTED KY, MOUNTAIN MAFIA, DEVILS PLAYGROUND, THE GIRL, RED RIVER, SANTA VS ZOMBIES.
Brian S- What can you tell us about these movies and when any of them will be out?
Kayla- I really don't like giving much info out about my movies, that way you can see it for yourself. Most of them are not even out yet, so I really can't say much about them anyways at this time, but you will need to make sure to get a copy of them.
Brian S- What other projects/events will we be seeing you in this year?
Kayla- I have a few Fashion Shows coming up, I have a couple Magazines doing interviews with me and I just got done shooting a High Fashion Photoshoot for a new Magazine it's called TrendE Magazine, which should come out in August. I will have a few spreads throughout it. I have alot of appearences that I will be doing in 2010 at Film Festival across the US. I will be set up to take photo's with my fans and to do autographs. I will have all of my films for sale that is out on DVD, so make sure to stop in and see me! Here is where I will be at so far in 2010. Brian S- So what's been your most favorite experience so far?
Kayla- I would have to say that just having the chance to do what I do and meet the people that I meet in this business has been my favorite part. I have met some wonderful people along the way and especially here in KY. We have our own little film family going on and they are all like apart of my family. I got to work with some Celebs along the way and they treated me so kind and made me feel just as important as they were on set, and that is a moment I will never forget!
My most Favorite experiences would have to be winning Junior Miss KY & most important of all was when I got an Award from our Mayor in Dec 2009. I received A Proclamation Award from Mayor Karen Tingle-Sames & The City Of Georgetown for my outstanding achievements and all I have accomplished at my age. "We don't give these out very often and we don't give them to just anyone, Mayor Sames stated". So to have received the Award is such an honor and I will always treasure it. I was also Teen Miss Scott Co in 2009, I have had a wonderful year! It's been fun!
Brian S- Ok, getting back to your movies for a second, you're going to be in a movie called Santa Claus Versus the Zombies! What's going on here Kayla? Oh and how is Old Saint Nick?
Kayla- If I tell you, then I would have to kill you! Or wait, I might have to turn you into a Zombie! lol We just started filming on it last weekend! I can't say alot about it for contract reasons, oh and Santa don't never tell his real age...
