Fox Targets Director For HITMAN Sequel

Deadline reports that Fox has their sights set on Spanish director Daniel Benmayor to helm Hitman 2, the sequel to the smash video game hit that starred Timothy Olyphant. There is no word of Olyphant's return as the master assassin to this video game based film.

Benmayor who is a NYU grad is signed by Verve who is making the Hitman 2 deal, so this should be solid! The original Hitman grossed $100 million worldwide on a $30 million budget. Adrian Askarieh, Alex Young and Chuck Gordon will be producing the sequel with Daniel Alter exectuive producing. Daniel Casey has been brought in to sharpen up the script which includes elements from the video game Hitman 5. There is an option for Olyphant but he's on a role right now, has a hit cable tv show on FX with Justified and it's unclear if he would shave his head for this role again.

Honestly I wouldn't have anyone else in this role but Timothy Olyphant, that's his character! What do y'all think? I'll say right now if Olyphant returns it'll be a theatrical release and if he is replaced we know where it's headed!

Plot:

Agent 47, is a beaten man and must build himself back psychologically and physically to reclaim his mantle as world’s most feared assassin.
