Platinum Dunes to Develop New TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Film

It looks like Michael Bay's production company Platinum Dunes is going to produce the new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film for Paramount Picture s and Nickelodeon.

It's safe to say that the new TMNT film is going to be a gritty, hardcore, violent, action film, unlike any other TMNT production we've seen before, which is seriously fine by me! I loved the original 90's film, but if we actually get to see our favorite ninja turtles in the original 1984 gritty comic book style, then I can't complain because I've always wanted to see that.

This is actually the first non-horror remake for Platinum Dunes. They are obviously tying to expand their horizons. They are also currently developing The Monster Squad remake, an adventure Ouija Board movie, and action film called Heatseekers. TMNT will definitely end up being a big franchise for them, there is still a lot of life in these ninja turtles.

Deadline says that Platinum Dunes producers Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form will meet with writers in the next few weeks. It is also safe to assume that Megan Fox won't be playing April O'Neil.

The franchise, which began as a black and white comic book series in 1984, rose to tremendous popularity when it became an animated series in 1987. Following the first live-action film in 1990, the series spawned two live-action sequels, a live-action TV series, a second animated series and a CGI feature film.

Hey, I'm a big fan of the TMNT's so of course I'm excited! What do you all think of TMNT's new home?
