AMERICAN SPLENDOR's Harvey Pekar Passes Away at 70

Harvey Pekar, author of the long-running American Splendor, passed away early this morning at the age of 70. According to local police, his body was discovered around 1 am by his wife at their home in Cleveland, OH. The cause of death was not immediately known but he was suffering from several ailments. 

Pekar first began chronicling his life in American Splendor over 30 years ago. In 2003, after being adapted in to an Oscar nominated film by Sharin Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini, it received a fair amount of attention from the mainstream.
