More Solo Music from ANIMAL COLLECTIVE'S Noah Lennox

  

It has been approximately three years since Animal Collective's Panda Bear (Christian name: Noah Lennox) has released any solo material. Thankfully, the hiatus ends today with Paw Tracks' release of his Tomboy 7", which kicks off a seven-single series to be relased across multiple labels.

"The two new songs "Tomboy" and "Slow Motion" maintain the kind of upbeat vibe found on Panda Bear's previous solo album Person Pitch, but forged with a new sonic language that isn't as sample-centric. Dance beats meld effortlessly with electric guitars and Noah's now trademark vocal harmonies to create the NEXT Panda Bear sound."

Other labels participating in the series include Fat Cat, Domino, and Kompakt. Once every installment is out in the wild, a Tomboy full-length will be released. The news blast I received announcing the record made no mention as to when we should expect it though.
