Mark Ruffalo in Talks with Marvel to Play Hulk in THE AVENGERS

Wow! I really was looking forward to throwing out some hate on the new actor that Marvel brought in to replace Edward Norton as The Hulk in The Avengers. But according to Deadline, Mark Ruffalo (Zodiac, The Brothers Bloom, Shutter Island), who happens to be one of my favorite actors, is currently in "late stage" discussions with Marvel on taking over the role of Bruce Banner a.k.a. The Hulk. So you won't be hearing any negative comments from me if he ends up getting cast. This guy is an awesome actor!

I absolutely hate the fact that Marvel decided to not roll forward with Norton, but at the same time I am incredibly interested and excited to see Ruffalo take on the role next. Damn Marvel for screwing around with my emotions! It was recently rumored that Joaquin Phoenix was up for the role of Bruce Banner but according to this report, that is no longer the case.
