Joe Kosinski, the director of the upcoming Disney film Tron: Legacy has found a new film project to take on called Archangels. The film is being produced by both Ridley Scott and Tony Scott under their Scott Free production company banner.
The script written for the sci-fi action film was written by newcomer Andrew Will. The story is set in the near future and is described as a "Bourne-style thriller crossed with alien elements. The protagonist is part of an elite force that is tasked with tracking aliens who get past Earth’s defense system."
This is the third project Kosinski has signed onto since he took on Tron: Legacy. The other projects he's attached to direct is the remake of The Black Hole, and an adaptation of his own graphic novel Oblivion which he will tease at Comic-Con this year.
As for the screenwriter of Archangel Andrew Will he is currently writing and directing a series of online episodes for BioWare's upcoming fantasy video game Dragon Age.
The movie sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and there seems to be a lot of solid new talent behind the project. It will be interesting to see how the development of this film comes along.
