Simon Pegg Returns to MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 4

It looks like Simon Pegg will return for the Brad Bird directed Mission: Impossible 4! The actor is currently in negotiation with Paramount Pictures to reprise his character of the lab geek Benji Dunn.

The film still has not been officially greenlit but pre-production is moving forward toward an early September start date. There was recently a concern with Tom Cruise and his latest film Knight & Day which didn't do very well at the box-office. The last we heard the studio was looking to give the character Ethan Hunt a young agent to mentor, to help make the film more marketable.

Cruise will return to the film franchise, which is being produced by J.J. Abrams who cracked the story. Of course the plot details are being kept secret. The screenplay was written by Andre Nemec and Josh Appelbaum

It will be great to see Pegg return to the franchise, and as long as Brad Bird is directing the film I'm excited to see it.

Pegg will be at Comic-Con this week to show off his upcoming film Paul, which is about two geeks who encounter an alien while traveling across the U.S. from Comic-Con.
