DC Comics Axes Two Additional All-Ages Titles

Comic Book DC Comics by Wejo

Apparently the trend of publishers forsaking the youth will continue. Today, Robot 6 made mention that DC Comics latest round of solicitations revealed that they would be ending two of their seemingly popular all-ages books - - Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Billy Batson and the Magic of Shazam. This comes on the heels of their axing of Super Friends, another book geared toward children.

After this round of cancellations, the only kid friendly books at the company will be Art Baltazar's Tiny Titans and a handful of titles based on Warner Bros. cartoons.

There are smartly written comics for children out there, you just have to search for them. If you're in the market for a decent book to expose your heirs to, here are a few suggestions: Chris Schweizer's Crogan Adventures, Here There Be Robots, Axe Cop (actually written by a 5-year old), and Mouse Guard. If you have one to recommend, please leave us a comment.
