Comic-Con 2010: Skyline Panel

Well gang, more exciting and fun stuff is going on here at Comic-Con.  One of the panels that I was able to sit in on was for the Sci-fi thriller Skyline.

Skyline is an alien invasion film unlike you have ever seen before. Their one weapon against us, our own curiosity.
I was intrigued to see this panel because I knew nothing about this movie except that Turk from Scrubs was in it.
The panel was made up of directors Greg and Colin Strause and actors Eric Balfour, Donald Faison, Scottie Thompson, Brittany Daniel, and David Zayas.
They showed the first trailer ever shown to the general public.  It was ok.  I really wish I had a different opinion about it because I wanted to like this film.  The concept of it sounds great.  Alright, let me explain.
Now, the way that the Strause Bros. wanted to bring aliens to us was completely different and original.  The invaders of the world in this story don't come in firing lasers and blowing crap up.  These aliens want one thing, humans.  The great part of it is, they use our own human nature against us.  They use our necessity to see what is going on and lull us into a kind of hypnosis and then BAM! You're sucked up into a giant vacuum of death.
I'm not sure what it was about the trailer, but it just didn't draw me in.  The cast seems like it would be a great combo and the directors are very enthusiastic, but the clips that they showed were just kind of anti-climatic.

Maybe it was due to the fact that I was sitting in Hall H all day and I was uncomfortable.  I will definitely watch this movie, because like I said, I want to like this movie.  As soon as a trailer pops up I will post it for all of you to see.  Then you can let me know what you think.
McMurphy Out!
