Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th! I went and saw Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and I LOVED it! Can't wait for it to come out on DVD. Anywho let's move on to this week's releases. Here are the highlights of the week.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

Journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Michael Nyqvist) and rebellious computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Noomi Rapace) team up to investigate the unsolved disappearance of wealthy Henrik Vanger's (Sven-Bertil Taube) teen niece (Ewa Fröling), only to uncover dark secrets about Vanger's powerful family. Niels Arden Oplev directs this Swedish thriller based on the first novel from Stieg Larsson's best-selling trilogy.

Starring: Michael Nyqvist, Noomi Rapace
Director: Niels Arden Oplev

*You can play this in English as well*

From what I have heard this movie is amazing! I can't wait to watch it. I had it on my coffee table for a few days before it was released to DVD but my schedule would not allow me to watch it. Needless to say I will be grabbing it again soon.

Brooklyn's Finest

Antoine Fuqua directs this tense drama about three wildly different New York cops whose paths collide in a Brooklyn housing project, where each must make a decision that will change the course of their lives forever. Cynical, washed-up Eddie (Richard Gere) no longer cares about the job or the rules; cash-strapped Sal (Ethan Hawke) sees a shortcut to solvency; and Tango (Don Cheadle) is torn between conflicting loyalties. Ellen Barkin co-stars.

Starring: Richard Gere, Don Cheadle
Director: Antoine Fuqua

I had the time to watch this and to be honest I was not a fan. It was kinda like Crash with corrupt cops but the stories did not blend as well in my opinion. I also found it boring. I love Don Cheadle and that's why I watched it til the end.

A Single Man

This stream-of-consciousness, 1960s-era drama centers on a day in the life of George Falconer (Colin Firth, in an Oscar-nominated role), an English-born, Los Angeles college professor reeling from the recent death of his lover of 16 years. Fashion designer Tom Ford makes his directoral debut with this luminous film, which is based on Christopher Isherwood's novel. Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, Ginnifer Goodwin, Lee Pace and Nicholas Hoult co-star.

Starring: Colin Firth, Julianne Moore
Director: Tom Ford

I watched the trailer and garnered no information about this movie. I couldn't even tell what it was about so I decided not to watch it.

Bitten

While working a routine night shift, a paramedic (Jason Mewes) saves the life of a beautiful patient (Erica Cox) who resists being sent to the hospital so passionately that he agrees to let her heal at his place. But soon enough, he suspects he's been treating a vampire. After all, how else can he explain the dead bodies that have been piling up around him? Now he's faced with a grueling decision: Should he feed her addiction, or cut her loose?

Starring: Jason Mewes, Erica Cox
Director: Harvey Glazer

This looks like it could be a good laugh!

The Warlords

After emerging as the sole survivor in a battle between revolutionary troops and the Qing army, wounded Qing Gen. Ma Xinyi (Jet Li) is nursed back to heath by lovely peasant Lian (Jinglei Xu) in this epic Hong Kong blockbuster. After he recovers, Xinyi swears blood brotherhood with bandits Cao Er-Hu (Andy Lau) and Zhang Wen-Xiang (Takeshi Kaneshiro), and the trio wages a seemingly impossible campaign against the revolutionaries.

Starring: Jet Li, Andy Lau
Director: Peter Chan
