I think Brad Anderson is a very talented director, I've loved all of this films this guy has made which includes Session 9, The Machinist, and Transsiberian. His new film The Vanishing on 7th Street looks pretty freakin awesome as well!
The movie stars Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo. Shock Till You Drop points out that there is a reference we see in the trailer to "Croatoan" - "a nod to the Roanoke Island colony disappearance in 1597 - which might be a clue as to where Anderson is going with this film."
Here's the synopsis for the film:
A mysterious, seemingly global blackout yields countless populations to simply vanish, leaving only their clothes and posessions behind. A small handul of survivors band together in a dimly-lit tavern on 7th Street, struggingl to combat the apocalyptic horror. Realizing they may in fact be the last people on earth, the darkness hones in on them alone.
