Exclusive Interview: Actress Kaylee Williams Vs. Brian  S

Kaylee Williams is yet another name that falls into my "Nex Gen of Horror" watch.  Don't worry, she does other films besides horror, that's just my little thing I have for these young talented people who are really getting noticed for their indie work. Kaylee also likes to do a little combat training from time to time so you bettter back off because I have another bodyguard now! She was also recently nominated for Best Actress in a Short at the 2010 Oklahoma Horror Film Fest for her lead role in 'The Many Monsters of Sarah Roth' and she'll also be there, the fest runs from  between September 3-5. Check out my latest "Versus" to see what all goes on the world of actress Kaylee Williams.

Brian  S- Hi Kaylee, so how'd you get into the horror movie biz?

Kaylee Williams- Well I’ve always been interested in horror, so when I got the chance to start acting in horror films I jumped at the opportunity. I have to say that my favorite part of horror is the psychological element behind it. I enjoy trying to get inside people’s heads and figuring out what makes them tick…..

Brian  S- Tell me a little about Masters Devils and your character. When and where can we find this?

Kaylee Williams- “Master’s Devils” is a short film based off of a comic book by Legion Studios. It’s basically about these 5 devil girls that go to this bar and teach a group of piggish guys a lesson they won’t forget…..I play Sadie Van Houten, one of the five devil girls. She is the cute and goofy one in the group but she is also completely psychotic and not quite right in the head. I’ve heard that this film should be completed and available sometime this summer! You can find out more about the film at:  www.MastersDevilsTheMovie.com

Brian  S- Ok, what other projects do you have coming out?

Kaylee Williams- Well I’ve got “Slices of Life”, which is a feature length horror anthology that was directed by Anthony G. Sumner, that should be out sometime this fall. I’ve got a short film called “The Many Monsters of Sarah Roth”, directed by Justin Haden, that is making the festival rounds this summer and is available on DVD (just hit me up and I’ll tell you how to get a copy!). I also just finished shooting Eamon Hardiman’s “Zombie Babies”, which is a feature length Horror/Comedy that is supposed to have its premiere in West Virginia sometime in October. I’ll also be working on several other projects during the summer and fall of this year, and those should be out next year!  :D

Brian  S- I hear great things about Slices of Life!

Kaylee Williams- Thanks! I’m SO honored to have been involved in this project! The cast and crew are some of the most amazing people I’ve worked with. Very hard working, talented, and dedicated individuals. I had a blast working on this and I can’t wait to see the finished product!! You can check out the trailer for the film at: http://www.slicesoflifemovie.com

Brian  S- So you're trained in combat and do stunt work too?

Kaylee Williams- Yup! In between projects, I train with a stunt group in Chicago called Asylum Stunts and have learned a lot from them. I’m still new and have a lot to learn but I love it and want to continue to learn more and become better and better. Practice makes perfect! I’ve been keeping my eye out for any action films that may be needing a female lead – I LOVE to do fight scenes and would absolutely love to get the chance to play a kick ass female character in an action film and put my skills to good use   ;-)

Brian  S- If real life was a combat zone or like Mortal Kombat and you and I were the good guys, would you be my side-kick or would I be yours?

Kaylee Williams- You would be my side-kick  ;-)

Brian  S- Are you going to stick to horror movies or would you venture out and do a comedy or romantic movie?

Kaylee Williams- I’ve done many different genres of film so far and there’s something enjoyable about each one of them. Like I mentioned earlier, I would really like to do an action film. Or a fantasy/sci-fi. THAT would be fun – I’m definitely a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi flicks! I’ve done a fair amount of comedy, and some drama. I’m not so sure about romantic movies though…..I’m not a fan of that genre and I usually prefer to do the types of movies that I actually ENJOY watching, lol. I tend to think horror films are far more realistic than romantic films. And far more interesting. So I would chose horror over romance any day  :D

Brian  S- What would your dream role be?

Kaylee Williams- Honestly, I would love to play a character similar to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the TV series version, not the movie version). I like playing strong female roles and I’m a huge fan of that series. Also, a role similar to the character of River in Serenity would be an awesome role to get to play. She’s the type of character that you wouldn’t think would turn out to be a total badass, but ends up surprising everyone.   Actually, my dream role would be working with Joss Whedon and playing a character that he has created. Shocking, I know, considering the two characters I just mentioned above, lol. I think he’s a creative genius and would love to work with him someday. It’s actually on my list of things to do before I die. I’m working on it  :D   Playing Stephen Dorff’s love interest in a film would also be a dream role. I’m just throwing that out there.....

Brian  S- Where can we all find you on the interweb?

Kaylee Williams- Well since MySpace is pretty much dead and I don’t keep up with my profile any more, you can find me on these sites instead:   Facebook - http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#!/profile.php?id=1321302199 Model Mayhem –http://www.modelmayhem.com/kayleewilliams IMDb - http://www.imdb.me/kayleewilliams

Brian  S- Ok Kaylee, would you like to say anything to the horror fans out there?

Kaylee Williams- Thanks for supporting indie horror!!!!  xoxo

Brian  S- Thanks Kaylee!

Kaylee Williams- You’re very welcome! Thank YOU for the interview, you rock!!  :D
