BIOSHOCK Movie Still Actively in Limbo

In case you were wondering what was going on with the Bioshock movie that is set up at Universal Pictures Bioshock developer Ken Levine gives a little update to tell us that that the film is still an "active thing," at the same time he's still not sure it's going to happen, thus it is still actively in limbo. Here's what he had to say in an interview with the Washington D.C. radio station 106.7 "The Fan",

I will say that it is still an active thing, and it is something we are actively talking about and actively working on. The movie business is complicated — I can't tell you whether it's going to happen for sure or it's not going to happen for sure, but it's something we are actively discussing, quite actively, and actively working on.

There's a lot of actively going on in this short statement. At the same time the film still isn't for sure going to happen, which is sad. This movie had so much promise when Gore Verbinski was going to direct it, now it's slowly fading away. Verbinski stayed on as a producer, and was replaced by director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later). There was also a lot of talk of the film being a hard 'R' movie, which we all thought was awesome! That sparked up the excitement in us again!

Now who knows what will happen to this film. This property has everything a successful film needs, except for people that know what to do with it. This movie adaptation has so much potential, unfortunately it seems like it is on the road to being yet another crappy video game adapted movie. I hope that doesn't happen.

What do you all think this Bioshock movie is going?

A third Bioshock game was actually revealed this month as well! Here's the teaser trailer for it incase you missed it.
