Cameron Say's Del Toro's AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADNESS is Epically Scaled Horror!

I know most of us were all excited to hear that Guilermo del Toro was finally going to move forward with one of his passion projects At the Mountains of Madness. I am very excited to see what he has planned in bringing this H.P. Lovecraft story to the big screen, and now we are given even more reasons to get excited about the movie! James Cameron recently did an interview with Wired in which he talked about the project, saying that the movie will be on the same scale as Aliens. Hell yeah!

He told Wired that,

It’s going to be an epically scaled horror film and we haven’t seen anything like that in a really long time — I guess since Aliens.

I love it! And epically scaled horror film, we really do need one of those. Cameron goes on to talk about his thoughts on del Toro directing the film:

The thing about Lovecraft is that he left a lot to the imagination. He never told you what they looked like. He managed to create a sense of creeping horror without specific. Guillermo brings an eye for design that is so original and so quirky and so steeped in the lore of movie design and horror design, but always fresh and unexpected. Frankly, I just want to see what he comes up with and I want to enable the nuts and bolts of the production so he doesn’t have to worry about that. I want to help him how to work in 3-D.

This is going to be a huge film collaboration, and seeing what these two powerhouse talents create is going to be something special. I imagine this film will end up being del Toro's greatest achievement as a director when he's done with it. I can't wait!

What do you think about the comments that Cameron made?
