Emma Stone and Mia Wasikowska up for Roles in SPIDER-MAN 3D?

Marc Webb's Spider-Man 3D reboot is gearing for production, and a couple more names have recently leaked out as being possible candidates for the two lead female roles in the movie. Yep, there will be not one, but two female characters.

The two actresses currently up for the roles are Alice in Wonderland's Mia Wasikowska, and Zombieland's Emma Stone. It can be easily speculated that Stone could end up playing the part of Mary Jane Watson, even though there's been reports that the character won't be in this film. Maybe those reports were wrong. Wasikowska on the other hand, would make a great fit for the character Gwen Stacey. It would make perfect sense for these actresses to be cast as these characters, and I hope these casting rumors turn out to be true. They're both great actresses that fit the roles they could end up playing.

Of course the studio isn't confirming or denying any of this. We still don't know for sure if these two Spider-Man characters are going to be in the movie.  As for the other actresses that have tested for roles, we have Imogen PootsOphelia LovibondLily CollinsTeresa PalmerEmma Roberts and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

As previously reported Andrew Garfield will play the lead in the film Peter Parker a.k.a. Spider-Man. It's pretty amazing how well Sony has been able to keep the details of this film on the down low. I'm looking forward to seeing how this all comes together.

What do you think about the possible casting of Emma Stone and Mia Wasikowska in the Spider-Man reboot?
