Edgar Wright is Writing ANT-MAN Again

Movie MarvelAnt-Man by Joey Paur

Director Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) has jumped back on Ant-Man, and is currently once again writing the script for Marvel Studios. Wright took a two-year break from the writing it so he could focus on developing Scott Pilgrim.

Apparently Wright recently had a dinner meeting with Marvel Studios production head Kevin Feige to discus the film project, and he's ready to take care of business.

Wright didn't really give any plot details for his Ant-Man vision, but in previous interviews he described it as "not quite a comedy but with humorous elements." The story centers on Marvel scientist Hank Pym who, in various incarnations of the comic, could shrink down to the size of an insect to solve crimes, in one iteration with a female companion named The Wasp. No word on if Wasp will make an appearance though.

Wright says he is co-writing with his Adventures of Tintin collaborator Joe Cornish, and tells the LA Times,

This one's not about about the urgency of summer tentpoles and things going into production without a script. It's slightly different than that.

That's good news! They will actually have a finished script before they start filming. For those of you who don't know, that's a rare thing these days in Hollywood.

Hell yeah I'm excited for this! I think Wright is the perfect writer and filmmaker to tackle this character, and I'm sure the film will end up being very entertaining like all of Wright's films.
