Kevin Kline to play two roles in Charlie Kaufman's FRANK OR FRANCIS

Kevin Kline is to play two supporting roles in Charlie Kaufman's next film. Variety reports that Kline is attached to star in Frank or Francis, Kaufman's second film. He joins Jack Black, Steve Carell and Nicolas Cage, who were already cast.

The film is  a "satire of Hollywood set to music, project chronicles the back-and-forth between a movie director and an online blogger who delights in berating his cinematic talent." Black will play "Francis, a charmless yet extremely intelligent Internet troll who reviews movies online." Carell would play "Frank, a successful, somewhat pretentious filmmaker who is cheating on his wife." Cage stars as "The Emcee, an actor famous for commercial, high-concept films including his most recent hit, Fat Dad."

Kline will star as "Richard Waller, the brother of Jonathan Waller, the director of a fictional film titled "Hiroshima," the highest-grossing movie of all-time. Kline will also play Richard's Head, an animatronic head that, through the use of advanced screenwriting techniques, helps Jonathan develop a completely inoffensive product that will have the broadest possible appeal and zero artistic integrity."

The film is being produced by Likely Story's Anthony Bregman, with production scheduled to begin in January. Casting is still ongoing for two female singing roles. Kline was last seen in Robert Redford's The Conspirator and Ivan Reitman's No Strings Attached. What are your thoughts?
