ROCK OF AGES star to play Adam in PARADISE LOST

Diego Boneta may be going rocking out in Rock of Ages, but he will next be playing a heavenly role. Variety reports that the actor is close to a deal to play Adam, the first man on Earth, in Legendary Pictures' Paradise Lost.

The big-budget film is to be directed by Alex Proyas (The Crow), and is an adaptationn of John Milton's 17th Century poem. Baneta joins Bradley Cooper and Ben Walker as warring archangels Lucifer and Michael, while Casey Affleck, Djimon Hounsou, Callan McAuliffe and Dominic Purcell co-star. The film is being produced by Vincent Newman via his Vincent Newman Entertainment banner, while Legendary's Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are also producing.

The primary draft of the screenplay was penned by Stuart Hazeldine, originally written by Byron Willinger and Philip de Blasi. Polishes were done by Lawrence Kasdan and Ryan Condal, who delivered the most recent draft.
