New GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO viral video leaves us with more questions

The viral marketing for David Fincher's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo continues to roll along. FirstShowing has unearthed some hidden elements from a viral video on mouth-taped-shut.com. The site was updated today with a video from the original Swedish versions of the film that show the car crash scene.  Those that have seen the original film or have read the books know the importance of this crash. The tags for the YouTube video have some interesting tags. One of the tags says "look closer" and has "WIHIS" (What Is Hidden In Snow) and "slash".

Comments on Tumblr have helped reveal the hidden part of the video. On one of the license plates, it reads "GLANCE" spelled backwards. Visitors on mouth-taped-shut.com figured out to spell that as "backwardsglance" on the What is Hidden in Snow website. This then lead to a new viral page at that site that contains a grid made of various size squares, one of them blinking.

There is also a picture of a rock, a countdown timer, and a set of GPS coordinates that link to San Diego. "Do not enter without it. Stairs."This is likely a collection of sorts, but since I am in NJ I can't easily find out. The rest of the whatishiddeninsnow.com website shows a bigger version of the same squares. We will keep you posted on how this develops.

I enjoy this form of marketing, but do not have time to delve into it like I wish I could. This is my most anticipated film of the holiday season, I am eagerly awaiting December 21.
