McG to direct cop drama PUZZLE PALACE for Summit

McG has found a puzzling new project with Summit Entertainment. Deadline reports that the director is in talks to helm Puzzle Palace, the cop drama penned by David Guggenheim. The project was picked up after a pitch last year from Guggenheim that also included the spec script for Safe House. That project was picked up by Universal, and is being directed by Daniel Espinoza and will star Denzel Washington and Ryan Reynolds

Twilight producers Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen of Temple Hill Partners are set to produce the film for Summit. McG recently directed the comedy This Means War with Chris Pine, Tom Hardy and Reese Witherspoon for 20th Century Fox. I am not a fan of McG's past films, but am a fan of cop dramas if they are done right. Hopefully Guggenheim's script will be better than McG's track record.
