Mark Wahlberg reteams with CONTRABAND director for 2 GUNS

Mark Wahlberg is set to reteam with his Contraband director for Universal Variety reports that Wahlberg is in negotiations work with Baltasar Kormakur on the action pic 2 Guns. The film will follow a "DEA agent and an undercover naval intelligence officer who unwittingly investigate each other as each steals mob money." The script got a rewrite from David O. Russell, which was penned by Blake Masters adapted from Steven Grant's graphic novel. The project is being produced by Boom!'s Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie.

Koramakur is becoming more and more in demand and is in talks to direct the U/Working Title pic Everest and is also in line to direct the epic Viking for Working Title. Contraband also stars Kate Beckinsale and Giovanni Ribisi. Check out the trailer for the film here. 

What are your thoughts on this casting news? I think Wahlberg does his best acting when he is not playing these type of roles, but that is my opinion. What are your thoughts?
