Universal Soldier is coming to the small screen thanks to Fremantle Media. Deadline reports that the 1992 film that pitted Jean-Claude Van Damme against Dolph Lundgren from director Roland Emmerich is being rebooted as a TV series. The show is beinng pennned by Damian Kindler (Stargate,Sanctuary). Allen Shapiro and Craig Baumgarten, who produced the original movie, are signed on as exec producers. Shapiro founded Mosaic Media Grouup and is currently chairman of TV Guide Network. Baumgarten has been involved in such films as Hook and Shattered Glass.

I remember seeing this in theaters and enjoying it despite the lacking script and the fact that the guy behind us was smoking during the film. What are your thoughts?
