CHARLIE'S ANGELS producers hired to pen ZORRO reboot for Sony

Sony Pictures has found a pair of TV scribes to pen it's Zorro reboot. Deadline reports that Matthew Federman and Stephen Scaia to write the reboot, which will not be a remake but an origin tale of the comic book icon based on the 2005 Isabel Allende novel. This will be the latest take on the character since Sony’s 2005 pic The Legend Of Zorro, starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

Federman and Scaia have worked on such shows as JerichoWarehouse 13 and Human Target and are currently supervising producers on ABC’s Charlie’s Angels. Zorro will be their second feature effort, the duo adapted River Of Doubt, about Teddy Roosevelt’s 1914 trip down the Amazon River, for Jon Turteltaub’s Junction Entertainment.

I really would rather see another unique movie get made and not a reboot. Zorro has already been done, but at least it will be slighly unique. What are your thoughts?
