Robert Zemeckis developing "Period Ghostbusters" Film called CHARLES FORT

Movie Robert Zemeckis by Joey Paur

Director Robert Zemeckis is teaming up with Universal Pictures and screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos (Snow White and the Huntsman) to bring us a great sonding supernatuarl type feature film called Charles Fort. The film is being described as being a "period Ghostbusters" film.

THR says that "Charles Fort was an early-twentieth-century American researcher and writer whose focus was "anomalous phenomena" and the unexplained. Books Fort wrote such as The Book of the Damned (1919) and New Lands (1923) were some of the first to explore everything from levitation and teleportation to alien abduction and other paranormal pursuits. Fort was essentially a curious skeptic who enjoyed collecting data to support explanations for things that he felt were no less possible than the scientifically accepted ones."

I find all this stuff fascinating, and the movie could end up being a great movie. There was actually a four-issue comic book published in 2002 by Dark Horse Comics called Fort: Prophet of the Unexplained, which reimagined Fort as an adventurous investigator tangling with aliens and murderers in turn-of-the-nineteenth-century New York City.

It's not clear if that's route they are going to take the movie, but the man that the film is based on is an extremely interesting person to explore. What are your thoughts?
