GAME OF THRONES director to helm del Toro's MIDNIGHT DELIVERY

Brian Kirk, a primary director on HBO's Game of Thrones, is teaming up with Guillermo del Toro on his next project. Variety reports that he is set to helm Universal's thriller Midnight Delivery. The script was penned by Neil Cross based on an idea from del Toro, who is also producing.

Not much is known about the story at this time. We do know that that film "follows a father who becomes a drug mule to save his son's life." Production is slated to star next year, after Cross turns in his latest draft. Del Toro is producing via his Del Toro Productions, and Gary Ungar is exec producing.

Kirk recently wrapped production on the latest season of Thrones, and is not planning on resting anytime soon. He is attached to direct Paper Wings for Lionsgate and was in consideration to direct Thor 2 before Patty Jenkins was hired.
