Jeremy Renner Reveals some THE BOURNE LEGACY Details

The next movie we will see Jeremy Renner in will be Brad Bird's Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. He just finished shooting The Avengers as Hawkeye. As of right now he's currently prepping for his lead role in the upcoming new Bourne film... The Bourne Legacy, which is being directed by Tony Gilroy. In a recent interview with Empire Magazine Renner reveals some details on the story for the film and the character he plays.

My character is called Aaron Cross, but he ends up having a bunch of different names. For fans of the franchise, [The Bourne Legacy] has that same ticking clock, but it's a new program and new characters.

When the actor was asked if the Treadstone program from the Jason Bourne books and movies is still involved, Renner said,

Yeah, it's that same deal, it's just a new set of agents with a different leash. It's the same tempo and pace but more expansive and bigger. The differences are pretty vast but you'll know it's a Bourne movie.

I've enjoyed all of the Bourne films, and I think Renner is a great choice to continue the franchise. As long as the story is solidly entertaining and the action is exciting then I think everyone will be happy. What do you think about this new Bourne film being made?

Universal Pictures has scheduled the movie to be released on August 3rd 2012, and Renner is surrounded by a wonderful team of actors that includes Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Stacy Keach and Scott Glenn.
