STAR TREK Sequel gets 2013 release date!

Get ready to be beamed up to the Enterprise, Paramount Pictures has set a release date the Star Strek sequel. THR reports that the film will be shot in 3D and is set for release on May 17, 2013. This prime date puts the franchise during a busy month, right after Iron Man 3 and Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim.

This release date confirms that J.J. Abrams is happy with the script penned by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof. The first film arrived made $386 million worldwide, and it is hoped that the sequel will make even more.

I loved the first film, but loved it even more that it was NOT in 3D. Paramount’s decision for 3D does NOT make me happy, but I will still see it regardless. What are your thoughts?
