Kyle Chandler joins BROKEN CITY

Kyle Chandler has joined the cast of Broken City. Variety reports hat the Super 8 actor will star alongside Mark Wahlberg and Russell Crowe in the political thriller directed by Allen Hughes. The film was scripted by Brian Tucker and has Wahlberg playing “a Gotham detective hired by a powerful politician (Crowe) to identify his wife's lover, who is subsequently found and killed.”

Barry Pepper co-stars as “a mayoral candidate, while Chandler will play the nuts and bolts component of his political team.” The cast also includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Jeffrey Wright, Griffin Dunne, James Ransone, Justin Chambers, Natalie Martinez and Alona Tal.

Broken City is slated to arrive in theaters on Jan. 18, 2013. Chandler is best known as Coach Eric Taylor from NBC’s Friday Night Lights. He recently completed filming on Ben Affleck's political thriller Argo, iin which he plays “Hamilton Jordan, who served as the Chief of Staff to President Jimmy Carter.”
