Nazi Star Trek Episode Airs For First Time In Germany

"Without followers, evil cannot spread."

The land of Rammstein and Rumple Minze got to experience alien Nazi ideals for the first time ever last Friday. Germany has forever kept a tight hold on it's restriction of images of the Nazi party in any form, even going so far as to restrict gamers from playing Doom for 17 years.

The episode features the crew travelling to the alien nation Ekos, who has formed their society under the Nazi ideology. It's then up to the great captain and Vulcan to go incognito to save neighboring planet Zeon (Zion?) from genocide and destruction

Far be it from me to say it's...illogical, but I've watched "Patterns of Force" (episode title) and don't see why it was restricted. The episode is in no way promoting Nazism although it does have a lot of Shatner and Nimoy (both Jewish) rocking "Hitler-wear".

Perhaps you will see something I don't in these clips. Better yet, if you're one of our readers with a German background I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below. Also, just because it's hilarious, here's an onset photo gem that Google decided to throw me upon my search of the episode.

So here they are, the original trailer for the episode, a dramatic Spock moment, and perhaps the weirdest fan video I've seen in awhile. Take it all in Geeks.
