Joss Whedon's THE AVENGERS Might Feature a Vampire!

It looks like Joss Whedon’s The Avengers just might end up featuring a vampire! The highly-anticipated film is currently in post production, and the full credits have been released on IMDb. Nuke The Fridge noticed the inclusion of a vampire among the cast, which makes us wonder how a vampire fits into the story? Could Whedon be giving an amusing nod to Buffy the Vampire Slayer?

There has been some speculation that the vampire could actually be Marvel’s “The Living Vampire”, the anti-hero/villain Morbius. If this is true, does that mean that Morbius will be a ally or an adversary? Since the character will be showing up in the end credits, does that mean the character will appear in the likely sequel?

The vamp will be played by actor/stuntman J.J. Perry. He has worked with Whedon on Angel, Serenity, and Firefly.  I am interested in seeing this movie even more now. What are your thoughts on this news?
