STAR TREK - Producer says sequel has "mad dash" beginning and "original story"

The Star Trek sequel reportedly have a “mad dash” begining and an “original story” according to producer Bryan Burk. The details on the J.J. Abrams’ Trek sequel were revealed while doing press for Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol. In the interview he discusses how the production team chose the villain in the film. Beware that the excerpts and video clip below may contain SPOILERS.

Here is what Burk had to say to MTV about how the film starts out:
What is exciting about it is, unlike the last film where we were restarting and resetting up all the characters, we are going to jump right in and we don’t have to set up everyone again and we can go right into it. For those who haven’t seen it, go get it right now. We are kind of in a mad dash at the beginning of the film.  In all of our conversations we reference our favorite films and inEmpire Strikes Back it is spectacular how they were able to pick up immediately and carry on from the last one.
Here is what Burk had to say about the rumors of  Khan being the villain in the film. As you can expect, he did not confirm or deny reports, but did give some insight into how the villain was chose:
There are amazing villains throughout the Star Trek universe, as well as new villains as we did in the last film. There are a lot of directions we can go in the film and in this particular case we chose to do something that would be original and unique and different and again on paper I think we made the right choice.

I think it is always a good idea to open a movie with a bang, so the "mad dash" sounds like a great idea. I am sold on Abrams' vision and the story will be great. What are your thoughts on this news?
