LINCOLN LAWYER sequel on the way from Lionsgate

Lionsgate is not only developing and ABC series based on The Lincoln Lawyer, they are now also working on a feature sequel to the film, according to Variety. The series and movie are being co-produced by Lionsgate and Lakeshore Entertainment. The pilots script is being penned by John Romano and Michael Connelly, the novelist who created the property adapted to film. They are also serving as  exec producers along with Joel Gotler and Lakeshore's Gary Lucchesi and Tom Rosenberg.

Here is what Lionsgate’s Vice Chairman Michael Burns said in an interview with CNBC:
"'The Lincoln Lawyer' was a very successful movie for us (rought in $58 million domestically) and we're developing that with ABC. We're going to do a sequel on Lincoln Lawyer as well."
Matthew McConaughey starred in the film as  “a criminal defense attorney who does business from the back of a chauffeured Lincoln. The films protagonist Michael "Mickey" Haller is a character in five different novels by Connelly.

What are your thoughts on this news? I liked the first film and am interested in seeing a sequel more than the TV series. There are already enough lawyer related dramas on TV.
No author bio. End of line.
