Will Smith Gives M. Night Shyamalan a nickname that ups his street cred!
I liked M. Night Shyamalan’s The Village and Lady in the Water. I know that most people do not care for them, so I am in the minority. Do not worry, I did not like The Last Airbender or The Happening.
Whether you like him as a director or not, he is sticking around. His next film, After Earth (aka 1000 A.E.) has the megawatt star power of Will Smith and his son Jaden. The film is a big-budget sci-fi film about a father and son who son who crash land on earth 1,000 years after humans have vacated the planet entirely.
During the pre-production process Shyamalan and Smith are apparently getting to know each other to the point of giving nicknames. Shyamalan responded on Twitter when a fan asked what people call him and it is pretty funny:

The movie is scheduled to arrive in theaters on June 2013, and we will not know if it will have a safe or rough landing until closer to then. One thing we do know is that it is not a bad thing to build a comfortable relationship when working on a big-budget film. I am interested in seeing this movie. What are your thoughts?
