Phillip Noyce in talks to direct HUNTER KILLER

Phillip Noyce (Salt, Clear and Present Danger) is in talks direct a new action/thriller called Hunter Killer. The film is being compared to Black Hawk Down and is based on Don Keith and George Wallace’s novel “Firing Point."

The story is about an American sub commander and a Navy SEAL team that must rescue the Russian president and defeat a renegade admiral who’s attempting a coup.

It was earlier reported that Pierre Morel (District B13) was in talks direct the project. Noyce just turned down the directing gig on a sequel to Salt and is now interested in the project. Depending on how fast it can get up, it looks like it may end up being his next project. Noyce is currenlty attached to direct Timeless, thriller Wenceslas Square and the Russell Crowe starring Australian movie Dirt Music. It will be interesting to see which film makes it into production first.

Noyce would be a perfect fit for this role and I'd love to see him take on the gig. What are your thoughts?
